How To Have The Perfect Wedding Day

By Patricia Rotramel

Planning a wedding is both an exciting time as well as a stressful one. You need to work together with your soon to be spouse in order to make it a day that you will both enjoy. This article will give you tips on how you can make your wedding one that you will remember fondly.

Consider having your wedding ceremony abroad. The price of wedding ceremonies overseas can be dramatically lower than the price in your home country and some of the available venues are stunning. If you chose to go down this route, make sure that you sort out all of the legal paper work well in advance.

For brides-to-be, it is important not to gain any weight before the big day. You have already been sized for your dress and weight gain can cause your dress to have to be altered, which could be impossible. Try not to eat bad foods and exercise as much as you can in the months before your wedding.

Even though many pre-wedding traditions are focused around the bride, be sure to include some for the groom. He plays a pretty important part to the day and you are going to want to have some photos done of the time that he and his groomsmen get ready for the big day.

Prioritize your wedding budget. Decide what you must have and what you can skimp on. If you have your heart set on a certain location take it, but realize that you are going to spend less on everything else. Deciding what means the most to you allows you to stay within budget and get what you really want.

If finances are tight, just have cake and drinks at your reception. Not providing a full meal is a great way to keep your wedding costs reasonable. You will still be able to have fun celebrating with your friends and family, but you can do it at a fraction of the cost. Time your wedding so that the reception will not fall during a meal time.

If you and your soon-to-be significant other decide to register for gifts, do not forget to indicate on the registry whether or not the two of you are open to gift cards. Some friends and family members prefer to give gift certificates or gift cards in lieu of selected items, but are unsure of the bride and groom's stance. Including this information can make others aware of your preferences.

Be sure that your wedding party has plenty on non-alcoholic beverage options and plenty of food. While it's perfectly acceptable on your wedding day to have a little more alcohol than you usually do, you don't want every guest you invited driving home drunk. It's dangerous and not something you want to deal with on your wedding day.

Ask the photographer how long your wedding picture negatives will be stored in his or her database. You may be able to put off that expense until after you've paid for all your other wedding bills. You might also consider asking your photographer in advance if he or she will hold your negatives for a set period.

If you're planning on having a buffet at your wedding reception, work out a plan to get the food moving quickly so that no guest is left waiting. Consider having multiple tables at different locations in your venue so that many tables can go up at one time, shortening the lines at each.

Do not think that you have to wear a white wedding dress to your wedding. If you want a white wedding dress, go for it. Yet, if you prefer a black, red or any other color of dress, go right ahead and wear it, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Not looking forward to dancing the night away in those uncomfortable heels? Give flip flops a try. Buy some white flip flops for the bride, and colored flip flops for the bridesmaids too. This can help to make the reception more enjoyable, and the dance party last into the wee hours of the night.

If you are feeling the pressure and stress from planning your wedding you could use a little piece of mind. This article has given you ways that you can have the beautiful day you are wanting, and also reduce the amount of stress you are feeling over getting it all done on time.
